1:53 pm - remainders...
I went and looked at guitars yesterday and it was fun. I keep writing songs at work and not writing them down or recording them, so I lose them. I have probably lost five this week. Tonight is taco night at work. Ole'!

9:34 pm - it's not the fourth, it's the fifth.
I went out last night and saw some awesome fireworks at a friend's house. Recently, I've been reading Wildfire by Sonia Johnson. Where did she go? What is she doing now. I want to know.

12:23 am - I've not been prolific at this, eh?
Alright. So let me actually take a moment to let you know what's going on with my life. I'm living in Nashville looking for jobs currently. I was going to move to New York, but plans on that fell through. My mom had a fall and she is in the hospital. :( So I am going to stay here and make sure that she is okay.

I want to start a band eventually. I may go back to school in the fall, nothing's definite at this point. Just trying to get back on track and productive at this point. Anyway--miss you, everyone. Hope you're having good summers.

2:29 am - march is here.
Here is March. And here I am, writing my first real Livejournal entry that isn't entirely blase'.

I have a mouse drawn on my hand in black marker. We have fish--a big, black catfish--and others, too. I am still resigned to cigarettes, but pleasantly. I think I am starting a band. Maybe two. The walls are covered in artwork and posters. The carpet is a deep, dark green. Our house is amazing.

The trial has been postponed to November. I don't think anybody knows yet but me. I am sad about it. I wish I could raise 50,000 dollars. :(

Sucktastic.

It's been a wild and wonderful week. I love my friends.

I am inclined to say that I like artichokes better than I like lobster.

I believe that I am entitled to one piece of bad clip art per week:

Here is the funniest thing I have seen in a time:

And here is something a child drew which is unbelievably cute:

6:50 am - all disco dance must end in broken bones
I dropped a class that was too early. Huzzah. Maybe I will stick it out and be a political science major without the pre-law distinction. I would really like to minor in web design instead of taking the classes the pre-law major requires. Ugh. That is all I have to say about that.

I am a fan of Mario Party 6. My favorite Game Cube game has to be Harvest Moon, which I adored when I played previous versions. Now if they would only come out with a Game Cube version of Suikoden (my favorite game ever). I will freely admit that I adore RPGs. Dragon Warrior was my introduction to them when I was 8 years old (because it came free with my subscription to Nintendo Power). I beat it within a month (which was pretty good for an 8 year old), but when I came back and played it as an adult it was no fun whatsoever.

How it would please me to get some sleep tonight. It's doubtful. I am so excited about the prospect of getting a better guitar in the near future. My Fender Squier Strat is on its last legs. It has been for years, but I never realized the full extent of its lousiness until I played a new Tele the other day. Oh, what a difference. It made the Pixies sound like the Pixies. And here I had thought all along I was just a shitty guitarist.

Throwing Muses rocks my world. Limbo deserves to be on repeat for three days. I will make artichokes tomorrow perhaps. Kristen Hersh needs to play out more. I need to see the Pixies, Rilo Kiley, Mary Timony... and the Pixies. Damn all y'all lucky people who got to see them. Okay, bless all y'all lucky people who keep them touring, rather. But I want to see them, too!

I have replaced my cryptically stunning bjork logo with this lovely image of Cia Soro from Whale (one of the best bands out of Sweden ever). Would you believe I used to maintain a Whale website? That was very popular, in fact? Maybe I should start one up again. I should get off my ass and start doing *something*.

6:05 am - How can they remake this?

Words don't mean a thing... fuckin' blah blah blah... happy as can be... never said it wasn't possible... never said i was invincible... lonesome days will never bother you... lonesome days will never bother you..."
-Robert La Salle, Fridge Buzzing

So, tell me how they can do a better version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory than has already been done? Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are certainly wonderful at what they do and recent technology will give them the ability to do even more... but no Gene Wilder? Johnny Depp has some hefty shoes to fill. Until I see it happen, I won't believe he (or anyone!) is capable of the job. Will the actors and actresses still have snotty English accents? Will the Oompa Loompas sing the classic Oompa Loompa songs, or will something new for them be introduced, like "Oompa Loompa hip hop"? Will that annoying assholish Mini Me guy from the Surreal Life have been recruited for his "star power"? (Please, goddess, no.)

I don't know what to make of it, all in all. I can't wait to see the trailer though. Here, you watch it first:

8:48 am - happy burseday.
"as for those things that act as markers in your life... but in between, you can't remember..."
~ Rilo Kiley

A Happy Burseday to Carl. The other night I went to the Boro and by happenstance encountered a friend of mine from my old work. We had a grand time barhopping and running into random people. There are some wonderful people in Murfreesboro. I hope no one lets me forget that.

I sang "99 Luftballoons" at the Blind Draw the other night, followed by "Molly's Lips" by Nirvana. The guys in my little Blind Draw band jammed on the songs and it was neat. I want to take up scrapbooking.

Lucky finally believes me about Terrible Herbst. Jules is still writing her blog Pigfucker (formerly known as "What I Did Not Eat Today"), which is brilliant.

My friend Skyler and I are going out for coffee. He just gave me a "Dancer in the Dark" poster for the house. This Xmas rocks.

1:12 am - Son of a gun
What a great day. I got a new entertainment center, a couch, a grill, and a dining room table with chairs. :) I am getting a new bed at the end of the week. My neighbors are moving to Texas. Hallelujah!

Tonight I hung out with my friends, listened to Portishead, moved more things in, shopped for posters and things, and had a great time. This week, I took pictures of the band Miles of Clear June with my friend Samantha. The bassist made them into collages online. Check out their myspace account and click on "view more pics" to see. http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=4362758&Mytoken=20041212231549

Anyway... Things rock. Hooray for new couches.

3:40 am - Catherine the Great and I have a date.
"I have slept beside the winter and the green is growing slow
I have watched you find the places hidden by the snow
I have tripped into a valley that is blue till you can see
I want you to come walk this world with me"
-Heather Nova, "Walk This World"

It is so amazing to once again pursue the art of self-discovery. I have been having an utter blast for about the past month. I have met such interesting people, spent so much time with friends and new friends, gotten so grounded and happy again. My apartment is beginning to look awesome.

current mood: chipper

5:34 pm - So, Bush won.
It appears that Bush won. Canada is looking nicer and nicer.

Watching the red states creeping across my tv screen made me feel like Target was taking over North America. Strangely, Target is more akin to the Democratic party, yet their brand color is red. Wal-Mart is hella Republican, and their color is blue. How dare they play the switcheroo color game. Blue for Democratic Wal-Mart shoppers everywhere.

I changed my journal to a different feel. How cozy. Tonight, I shall listen to Throwing Muses and smoke cigarettes under the stars, and potentially in the rain.

A paper is due. Alert! Alert! It must be completed within the next 15 minutes, so I bid you adieu.
